Working with Mel is a delight. I engaged Mel to help me make decisions for my new home that would be budget conscious, kid-friendly, artistic, that would create cohesion across our living space. Mel helped me with ideas on redoing my front porch. I especially needed help with paint colors. Warm tones, cool tones, sheen, hue—all that just befuddles me. I didn’t want to get one side of the house done and realize I made a horrible costly mistake. She charges by the hour. My project was just a six hour project. She’s also done whole house plans. And she donates one hour of her time from each project to charity. Don’t let the photos of her own home scare you! Mel can do any style and respects and values your ideas. Just need paint colors picked? Fine. Just need a furniture layout? Done. Need a funky family basement? She’s got you covered. A meditative master bedroom retreat? She can Zen you out!

Scrolling through Instagram I liked so many images of Melanie's home. I lived vicariously through her love of color, and I enjoyed commenting on the feels her rooms gave me. Last March, I found myself moving into a new space and sent her a message asking her opinion, and discovered she does e-design. I hired her to help me pull together my current furniture, as well as shop for some new pieces. Melanie really helped push me out of my comfort zone and embrace bold and beautiful patterns and colors. She was so patient with me as I struggled through the process. Every time I open my door after a long day at work, I am embraced by this beautiful design. I feel my own tastes have grown because of Melanie's influence. Thank you, Melanie!

After seeing Mel and her beautiful home designs on Instagram, I decided to ask her for some help. My foyer has been a never ending source of frustration due to some unique features in the space. Mel handled a variety of challenges in an interesting and cool way that I never would have thought of. The color choices, decor, lighting and art were beautiful. The virtual meetings and communications were a breeze. I was delighted to see the progression of the mood board as we continued to work through the design process. I recently moved, and was daunted by the idea of even beginning to start the process of decorating my new place. Mel was so easy (and fun!) to work with. The mood boards she created for me helped me sort out a color palette and gave me some great ideas for dealing with an enormous blank wall as well as furniture placement. Highly recommend!

After seeing her beautiful home both on her Instagram and in articles about her home, I knew I wanted Melanie’s design expertise to make my new house a home that reflected my style. Melanie designed a beautiful dining room after we moved from a house that didn’t have one. I fell in love with, and purchased, a vintage Heywood-Wakefield mid-century modern table and wanted her to work with that as the main piece. I also love the ocean; water and waves are my peaceful place so I wanted her to incorporate those colors into the design. She did a phenomenal job making a design that brought in all the things important to me. I now have a design for a beautiful dining room my family will enjoy for years!

What I loved about working with Mel is that I didn’t have to leave my house or face a high pressured, expensive design. Mel really listened and asked a ton of questions via zoom and we worked back and forth via my preferred method of communication to come up with a solution. Her expertise is “special” not big, grand, or expensive (although if that’s what you want she can deliver). Her design is customer focused with a gentle push towards thinking out of your comfort zone without ever making you uncomfortable. We will definitely design together again 🥰.

Melanie and I worked together virtually. I told her I loved the blue of her house. I also told her what styles I liked, but said I didn’t want to go too crazy because it was a guest room. She totally came through. I now have a beautiful places for guests to stay. Shades of blue, green, and grey with a touch of art deco (the headboard she picked out was stunning!). I would totally recommend her. Easy to work with, suggests beautiful things, easy to communicate with, and a friendly person to boot!
